Rob Lewis
Rob Lewis is a British, Emmy nominated composer.
His extensive portfolio in film and television encompasses notable works such as Macbeth (featuring Shaq B. Grant), Netflix Mysteries Of The Faith (directed by Robin Dashwood) for which he received an Emmy nomination in the category Outstanding Musical Direction and Composition, the augmented reality film The Last Light (by Magic Leap), Reappear (starring Ellise Chappell), and Area Boy (directed by Iggy London), which premiered at La Biennale 2023.
Rob received an Emmy nomination in the category ‘Outstanding Music Direction and Composition’ for his work on the Netflix series Mysteries of The Faith.
In addition to his compositional endeavors, Rob is an accomplished professional cellist, performing at venues ranging from The Royal Albert Hall in London to The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Collaborations include working with Baz Luhrmann, BAFTA winner David Holmes, Noel Gallagher, and rapper Dave, among others.
Renowned for his innovative incorporation of strings in his scores, Rob, who performs on a variety of instruments including the cello, piano, and synthesizers, strives to discover a distinctive voice for each project. His ultimate goal is to craft scores that are both inspiring and emotive, reflecting his passion for the creative process.
An innovator in music, Rob’s pioneering use of a loop pedal with strings laid the groundwork for his critically acclaimed albums: “Momentum,” premiered by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6, and ‘98,’ a commissioned work by Google. His musical compositions have graced diverse settings, from Kew Gardens to the Thames Tideway project, and have been featured in numerous Alexander McQueen fashion shows.
Rob is part of the BAFTA talent programme. He received his training at the Guildhall School of Music and Sussex University.
