Thomas Haines (of Brain Audio)

Thomas Haines is an award-winning British composer and sound designer with a background in the outer reaches of classical and electro-acoustic music. Known most notably for his score for Wolf King (Netflix), The Stimming Pool (Steven Eastwood), and his virtuosic sound and music work on Quarantaine (Georgina Starr). His scores and sound design are effortlessly thematic, playful, dark, and often magical.

Thomas’s early career includes performing Cage and Stockhausen and remixing Björk, as well as making experimental live scores for shows at the National Theatre and RSC. He studied classical composition at the GSMD, London.

Thomas has been making sound and score for moving Images for 25+ years, working with Directors including Georgina Starr, Tom Brass, Patrick Goddard, Noorafshan Mirza, Shezad Dawood, Smith, and Foulkes, Matthieu Landour, Jan Pinkava, Felix Massie, and Steven Eastwood.

Thomas is the creative director of Brain Audio, a world-class post-production facility in London, making sound and score for films, TV, and interactive media with clients including DreamWorks, Marvel, Netflix, Nexus Studios, BBC, Lime Pictures, and Meta, to name a few.

Recent sound and music highlights include recording virtuoso CARNYX player John Kenny for his score for Wolf King and performing the world premiere of Gavin Bryars’ On Lassus, written for his band, the London Snorkeling Team (the official Orchestra of the London Institute of ‘Pataphysics).
