Alex Bendaña (BenCa Brothers)

Alex Bendaña, is a composer, songwriter, producer, and one of the founding members of the Grammy award- winning band La Santa Cecilia. With four Grammy nominations, this Los Angeles based band is at the forefront of the bicultural experience in the United States. Born in Caracas, Venezuela to Nicaraguan parents, his family moved to the states in search of a better future and opportunities as many immigrants do. Growing up in South Los Angeles with a diverse community, it allowed him to develop a love for all types of music like Cumbia, Hip Hop, Norteño, Salsa, Motown, Ska, and Rock. He has also performed, recorded, and shared the stage with Elvis Costello, Los Lobos, John Paul Jones, Ryan Bingham, Fito Paez, Eugenia Leon, Enrique Bunbury, Ozomatli, Cafe Tacuba, Pepe Aguilar, Alejandro Sanz, Marlango, and many more. As a composer, Alejandro Bendaña’s music covers a broad range of genres with dramatic intensity making him one of today’s finest upcoming composers.
